Adopt a Highway - June 2019

The group cleaned the entire 4-mile stretch in less than two hours, with 12 people!!!

The cookout was wonderful before launching out, an impromptu “love feast” party!  A special shout-out to Jude for taking on the grilling and providing nourishment, and to all who brought dishes to share.

Also want to appreciate Mark, who made a trip to the DOT to get more supplies, reported the cleanup and bags location to the DOT, and who conceived and organized this ongoing community service taken on as part of UCP's Outreach.

The efforts saved a pile of large bags full of garbage and recycling from harming animals, waterways, soil, and from decomposing into microplastics which threaten life and the environment. This is sacred work.
