The 12 Powers in Action: A Youth & Family Creation

Throughout the month of June, children and teens in the Youth and Family Ministries program at the Unity Center of Peace in Chapel Hill will collaborate to create a site-specific sculpture inspired by their collective interpretation of Unity’s “12 Powers.” Designed in response to the natural surroundings of the Unity Center of Peace, the sculpture will incorporate organic materials intended to gradually decompose and return to the earth.

This creative process invites participants to explore and express their inner spiritual development through art, fostering a deeper connection between personal growth and creative expression. As both an individual and collective endeavor, the project aims to cultivate meaning, resonance, and a shared sense of purpose within the group and within the broader Chapel Hill community.  

Join us on June 28th at 1 pm to host a formal reveal and celebrate the work of the children.  Refreshments will be provided after the event.
